Pottergate Pirates invite all club members to join our band of cut throats.

The Pirates have friendly fixtures throughout the year.

Playing one match each month.

Curry Night - 19th January

I would like to post a huge thankyou to all those who attended the Pirates/A-team curry night, and to thank all the staff who were on hand to serve us our scran and our drinks. It was not only a chance to re-group, but to win some raffle prizes, play some bingo and to raise some money in memory of our dearly departed friend and legend Mr Gary Cooper.

Between us all we managed to raise a total of £150 towards the memorial bench and towards the Captains charity. This is a great achievement and I am very grateful to all of you who attended to support the event.

New Season - 2019

With the new year upon us it will soon be time to kick off the new season with our friendly fixtures throughout the warmer months. For those of you that don't know we are all a bunch of friendly golfers who like to play matches against other clubs, home and away, in a fourball betterball format. All fixtures are friendlies and usually include either a breakfast or a post match meal. All members are welcome to participate so long as you have an active handicap. If you are interested in joining our band of cut throats please either enquire at the clubhouse or speak to Ian Hopkin. Although you may not be picked for every game, we try to ensure that everyone interested will get to play.

Some of the fixtures have now been set. The dates are on the club calendar and I have put them at the bottom of this page. Start jotting the dates in your diaries!

New Leadership

It has been officially announced at the AGM 2018 that Captain Jolly Roger will be taking a back seat role in running the Pirates. We should give a huge thank you to Roger and all that he has done to carry on the Pirates. This has, by far, been the most successful year for the Pirates and Roger didn't take his role lightly. He put in a lot of effort to ensure that everyone felt integrated - and I think the feedback that he received reflects the highly regarded opinion that everybody had for his position. Roger made the Pirates his own and put his own slant on it, and he has been a credit to the role of captain. Although Roger will not be gone from the Pirates and will still assist with it, I am sure you will all join me in saying thank you to Captain Jolly Roger O'Neill - you have done a fantastic job. Roger will continue to run the Pirates until the beginning of the 2019 season.

And now begins a new reign of terror. Please welcome to the helm our new captain, Mr Ian 'Whitebeard' Hopkin (pictured above, 6th from right). Ian is a keen Pirateer and is very keen to take the role and continue the success that the Pirates have had for the 2018 season. I am sure you will all join me in wishing Ian every success in his new position as the Pirates Captain.
